CoSRH General Training Programme (LoC IUT & LoC SDI)
BBO Training delivers the CoSRH General Training Programme through The Women’s Health Training Partnership, of which BBO Training is a partner organisation.
This programme supports registered healthcare professionals working towards:
- Letter of Competence in Intrauterine Techniques (LoC IUT)
- Letter of Competence in Subdermal Implants (LoC SDI)
Training is delivered in line with Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare (CoSRH) standards and competency frameworks.
Programme Overview
The CoSRH General Training Programme is a structured, competency-based training pathway designed to support clinicians in developing safe and effective procedural skills in long-acting reversible contraception.
The programme combines:
- Formal theoretical education
- Supervised workplace-based clinical training
- Competency assessment in accordance with CoSRH requirements
Participants develop both technical competence and the underpinning clinical knowledge required to safely provide intrauterine contraception and/or subdermal implant procedures within Primary Care.
Governance and Clinical Training Requirements
Clinical training takes place within the participant’s own workplace or usual clinical setting.
This ensures:
- Alignment with local governance frameworks
- Appropriate indemnity arrangements
- Access to suitable patient populations
- Continuity of supervised clinical practice
A temporary contract of engagement is required between The Women’s Health Training Partnership and the participant’s employing organisation or General Practice. This agreement supports appropriate governance, supervision, and compliance with CoSRH training standards.
Participants must have access to a suitably qualified clinical supervisor and appropriate facilities to undertake training.
